DISEASE AND OUR FOOD- DOES ANYBODY REALLY CARE? by Cathy D. Slaght
Today a friend stopped by. With her was a bag of McDonalds- fries, a burger, and a coke, all of which she inhaled. She was starved, having worked all day without eating.
I've talked to her quite a bit about the GMO issue, because she has some health concerns. I asked her to be honest. "Do you really care about what's in that food?"
And her answer- "NO"
I get it. Food is our sedative and our reward. People don't want to hear about the problems. If they get sick down the road- which they typically believe won't happen- they'll just take some pills.
It's time to stop trying to talk to those who don't really care.
Sure, I'm discouraged.
But let's face it. Monsanto seems to have its pedicalps* in everything that was originally put in place to protect us. Even the EPA, in 2013, raised legal residues of glyphosate in food considerably. There were no studies done.
*pedicalps are these tiny little legs that are beside the fangs. They help to hold prey while the spider bites it.
And we aren't really the United States anymore- we're a corporation. Maybe that's why our representatives vote for big business instead of us.
But I'd like to mention a few things regarding the arguments of those who support taking away our right to know what we're eating.
They say, for example, " To label foods that have never been shown to cause any harm in the past 20 years, just to satisfy the curiosity of a few activists, is ridiculous."
But plenty of harm has been done. The evidence is there.
And "just a few activists"?
How about the lawsuits? Vermont and other states who passed labeling laws are being sued by the Grocery Manufacturers Association, the National Association of Manufacturers, the International Dairy Foods Association and the Snack Food organizations.
These are organizations, we're told, that will incur real costs if labeling laws are upheld. In other words, they have no choice but to sue.
But these companies LOVE to sue. These are key groups that protect Monsanto. Monsanto sits on their boards.
And OF COURSE they don't want us to know what we're eating! Does that tell you anything?
The International Dairy Foods Association is even trying to get aspartame in milk- without disclosing it!
(Don't know how they have time for this, what with having to go to the gun range to learn how to protect us from raw milk,)
Any extra cost is NOT related to labeling. Labeling is a built in cost of doing business. Other countries have seen no increase in food prices as a result of labeling laws.
These entities, the GMA etc, don't seem to mind OTHER spending, though- like the 46 million on media advertising to prevent labeling.
But, thanks to the mainstream media, "Activist" has become synonymous with "conspiracy theorist". Those in favor of labeling are being accused of not being "patriotic", not caring about feeding the world.
And along with the fact that many are now addicted to the processed stuff, facts are useless. We all know how addiction works.
But in terms of quantum energy, there is always a positive. Through struggle, we redefine our power.
And we're moving into higher energy.
