The EMF fix: Educate and Protect Yourself From Electrical Radiation (EMF) by Cathy D. Slaght
and the post-
IF YOU'RE HAPPY WITH THE STATUS QUO – STAY WITH THE HERD
But, accept the fact that running madly over a cliff can be unpleasant- life threatening, even -
Case in point: what we're seeing happening to our brains, and particularly the brains of our children.
Concerning our children: we're seeing sharp spikes in attention deficit, Autism, learning and behavior problems. Clinical depression is at what some say is epidemic level. And psychopathy- a subject for another time- seems to be on the rise. (What about the young woman who kept texting her boyfriend to follow through on his talk about commiting suicide?)
It does no good to ignore the reality of this.
For example, Autism is now classified by the CDC as a national health crisis. 1 in 45 children, ages 3-17, have been diagnosed. (This is a low estimate, they say, because a significant number are not diagnosed or treated)
Increasing numbers of studies indicate EMF may be a factor- particularly cell phone usage.
So, I went to lunch with my daughter yesterday, and thought it would be important to tell her about all this. She's ready to start a family.
“That's ridiculous”, she said.
But we were walking to the restaurant, so as we walked, I talked. “They've discovered it might be primarily the MEN'S use of cell phones”, I said, “they keep the phone in their POCKETS and it could be damaging the sperm.”
Taking a look to see how THIS hit her - I realized she wasn't listening- she was sending someone a text.
And apparently my brain still didn't quite compute that it was USELESS to continue on this track...probably been using my cell phone too much...
Because, at the restaurant, I also told our lunch companion, first thing! Really?” she said, then turned to my daughter - “Are there any drink specials today?”
So here we are- there's evidence that excess cell phone usage may literally change the way the brain functions, but few want to hear about it.
Of course, there's always a solution. It's never too late.
WE COULD GIVE UP OUR CELL PHONES.
And we all say, TOGETHER, like never before, FORGET THAT
(worldwide, more people have cell phones than have toilets. Seriously.)
Give yourself one 24 hour vacation a week from the cell phone.
But what if you go somewhere and need a map? A phone number? (anybody even SEE phone books or maps anymore?- or for that matter, phone booths?)
AND – what would you do with all the extra time? The average person spends 4.7 hours a day looking at their cell phone! Could you do something constructive, like figure out a way to create financial freedom? I think NOT! That sounds like TOO MUCH WORK!
Plus- many spend HOURS with the games on their phones- if they QUIT, it will screw up their dopamine production!
But there may also be some advantages to stepping away from the cell phone one day a week-
It will help manage stress- all that energy hitting your brain is actually quite stressful. Even every text message you send is competing for resources in your brain!
Then there's the fact that being on the cell phone throws off perception of time, and, maybe most significant of all- as concerns our world-
People who spend a lot of time on their cell phones are less likely to show compassion for others or reach out to help them. It may have something to do with our human need for social connections- the cell phone takes the place of direct human contact.
And, one final thought-
YOU CAN'T OUTSOURCE SAVING THE WORLD.
Maybe it's time to step up, learn more, tell others.
Here are a couple of books-
