ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW- COULD WE TURN EARTH INTO A PARADISE? by Cathy D. Slaght


Thinking is what makes us human. It's how we process information.

So, last night, for research purposes only, I purchased The National Enquirer.

(Well- okay- I will admit it- sometimes I enjoy the Enquirer.)

Anyway, one article says that Katy Perry, who would seem to at the top of her game  - has been feeling suicidal.

Unfortunately, she talked about this in her own podcast.

Was thinking about this- how so many people- young and old- have somehow come to believe that the way to TRUE happiness is through the celebrity lifestyle- plenty of money, fame, popularity- physical attractiveness, sexual magnetism- adoration- maybe just a whole bunch of tattoos- whatever.

If so, will they EVER be happy with a lifestyle that doesn't provide this? Are they forced to live it vicariously, compliments of the entertainment industry?

(just as a bit of trivia- there's a documentary on YouTube about an ad that was placed in the LA Times asking for people who would be willing to sell their souls to be a celebrity - there were hundreds of replies- the #1 reason people gave for being willing to sell their soul was FAME.)

But maybe we need to take a closer look at the quality of life of those people - you know, the ones who devote their lives to gratifying their ego and getting paid for it. Maybe we should also check out the extent to which we ordinary people are being programmed by their work.

Seriously, we know we can be -ARE- programmed by images and repetition. This is not disputed. So, with a closer look at what's being broadcast our way- via those we wish to emulate- TV, movies, photos- does it seem to be anything that's making us better people? Is poverty being reduced? Disease? Depression? Suicide? Violence?

So, a thought-

What if we heard, saw demonstrated, from those we trust and respect -

“everything is energy, and energy can be directed! Your very cells have their own consciousness. Sometimes they hold fear, shame, guilt, anger, rage- which can keep you in torment throughout an entire life! But that energy can be CLEARED, and replaced with love and happiness instead!”

or

“You are far more than just a physical body! You are supernatural! The potential of the human mind has yet to be tapped!”

Just a thought. It might be an improvement over what we usually hear and see -

Maybe we'd see a drastic improvement - worldwide.

But back to the images. Apparently there is a gate in the brain that allows images to impact our reality. It's known as the thalamus. 98% of all sensory input is relayed by it.

It is strongly linked with the cerebral cortex. This link forms a circuit which is believed to regulate consciousness.

So, for today, let's talk to the thalamus-
