ARE YOU ONE OF GOD'S FAVORITES? by Cathy D. Slaght

"How do you come up with this stuff?" asks a friend.

"I have a passion to share what has transformed my life" I say. "So I post on this blog for the few who might be ready for something different."

In childhood, I'd wanted to be a missionary-doctor. There was a strong connection with what I knew as "God".  But things changed. I fell in love, got married. Suddenly I was 50 years old, a fat, broke, workaholic, living in chaos. The blessing was a wonderful daughter. But as she grew up and went off to college, I was consumed with a feeling that my life was over.

The marriage thing hadn't worked out- I'd tried and failed two more times. There was a sense of isolation because of a heavy workload. I had somehow dug a hole for myself that I couldn't seem to get out of.

The educational system had just about convinced me that here was no God. If there were, He had His favorites and I wasn't one of them.

Then my health failed.  

A friend called with some crazy information " I know a lady with a machine" he said. "She hooks it up to you, it tells you what's wrong, and then fixes it."

I had ALOT wrong, so went to see it.  The full story is in The Joyful Journey.

Thing is, the machine didn't "tell me what was wrong and fix me". Instead, it educated me to the fact that we are systems of energy- electromagnetic beings, surrounded by an infinite field of subtle energy which was put in place to provide us with everything we need.

We access it by our personal energy level, or voltage. The higher the voltage, the better life goes. Problem is, many factors, beneath the level of our awareness, keep our voltage low.  It's crucial that we turn this around!

There are challenges in explaining this:

First, this is an invisible field- beyond the 5 senses. Like any other "field", for example the world wide web, our physical eyes can't see it.  Ironically, we surf the net with no question of "where's this info coming from?", but refuse to accept the possibility that there's an even larger field that we're also interfacing with on an unconscious level.

Second, our educational system doesn't explain any of this very well. And why not- now this information is scientifically validated!

Third, there are those who work with this subtle electromagnetic field to benefit only themselves. They don't want to share. In fact, they use their knowledge to manipulate others. Those are often the very ones who deride any talk of "energy".

As I learned more about the infinite system of energy that is our TRUE world, I had a flash of illumination that this very system was put in place by a loving Creator, which we could refer to as God.  Maybe God  wasn't an old man up in the sky, sending down lightening bolts.  It was worth considering.

But, despite all the suffering on the planet, many obviously aren't willing to open their minds to anything that hasn't been programmed in by the world's authority figures. As a result, they seem to be pulling even farther away from what might be personal and global "salvation".

It's understandable. "Religion", as we know it, can be repulsive. It can insult the intelligence.  It may have done more damage than anything else in keeping us away from living the "heaven on earth" so many ancient spiritual traditions speak of.

So, for today, I leave you with my personal belief: There is a Presence, a Source of all power, love and goodness, too loving for us to fear, too good to require supplication, that wants only good for us. Somehow it relates to the matrix of energy around us.
