DESTROYING THE INVADERS by Cathy D. Slaght
Louis Pasteur, in the 19th Century, believed he had discovered that microorganisms were responsible for infections. This led Western medicine to focus on drugs as the way to destroy them. Thing is- on his deathbed Pasteur realized he had been wrong. Strengthening the body was the answer, not FIGHTING anything. Here’s what we’ve accomplished by FIGHTING… First, it turns out many drugs are poisonous to the body. Second, over time many pathogens have become drug-resistant, becoming even more deadly in the process. Third- the COST of all these drugs is destroying lives- even nations. So, for the group- everybody else too – maybe it’s time to focus more on strengthening the body. Among other things, this can increase voltage, bringing us more into alignment with solutions to the problems this present-day world seems to present. (and looking at the history of the planet, it’s never been a picnic, but we seem to always figure things out.) So, since we started out talking about microorganisms/infection- let’s talk about the spleen. The size of a fist, it’s the largest lymph organ in the body, responsible for filtering blood and destroying bacteria which would be, yes, an example of a microbe. Chinese Medicine places high priority on spleen function. There are 4 things that can throw it off-
Here, for starters, are some attitudes/behaviors that can keep the spleen in a state of balance: Joy- enjoy your food, have a good relationship with it Positive attitude- welcome food as wholeheartedly as you can Relaxation- the Chinese believe not to mix food with work, watching TV or reading. Also, it’s important to relax posture so as not to hinder the passage of food through the body. Chew well- this lessens the work for digestive organs and increases the efficient extraction of nutrients. It also warms chilled foods. Stop eating just before you are full- overeating creates stagnation/food waiting to be processed. This results in feeling tired. Don’t flood the spleen- it doesn't like too much fluid with a meal. A little warm fluid, like a cup of tea, is ideal. Don’t chill the spleen- too much raw or chilled food will weaken the Spleen- the digestive process needs warmth. For today’s group work- etheric, not physical- we’re identifying and then balancing what may be the root source cause of any spleen-related stress. https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cFXFqwrQuu Comments are closed.
