![]() DING DONG, THE 'MID IS GONE by Cathy D. Slaght ''MID, as in FOOD PYRAMID. The old food pyramid is GONE, replaced with a PLATE. Many say this is an improvement, because the old food pyramid encouraged eating too many grains. But the “plate” has us eating plenty of grains, too. What if we're not supposed to eat ANY? What if they're totally unnecessary? And we're not talking WHEAT here - but ALL GRAINS. Hard to take this seriously. But, science demonstrates grains offer minimal nutritional value, promote fat storage by raising insulin, compromise digestion, promote inflammation, and interfere with immune function. An increasing number of experts say there's no reason to eat them. If that's true- while we've been told the opposite- we've participated in a MASSIVE illusion that's made us SICK. So, over the next few days I'll share what I've learned. Interpret it any way you like. Some of you may want to take my head off. But, for me personally, I've given up grains. Bad timing, I know, but this is week 2. Hope I stick with it over the holidays- which will be a challenge. But I may- because I'm feeling energized beyond anything I would have expected. In my case- I'm eating a small amount of meat. Apparently large amounts turn into carbohydrates. Plenty of vegetables. Lower carb fruits and FATS- that's important. Most of us were taught that fats make us fat- but isn't it interesting that when the low-fat products entered the market place obesity spiked? Here's something I had the other night that was DELICIOUS. I sliced up 3 zucchini, put 2 slices of sodium nitrate free bacon on top (sodium nitrate is linked to colon cancer) and put it in the toaster oven. By the time the bacon was cooked the zucchini was perfect- not raw OR soggy. It's one of the best things I've had in a long time! BUT What I want to know is – as diabetes rages out of control- and we continue to be instructed to follow the PLATE- - have those at the top of health care system simply been extremely careless in not following up on this information on grains, or is it gross negligence? Guess it's a fine line. And -why have we limited ourselves to only believing what they tell us? Today's group work- etheric not physical- still plugging along on Liver Stress, theme Chakras- emotion being cleared is astonishment-
