FORGING A NEW PATH- WITH SOME SLIP-UPS ALONG THE WAY by Cathy D. Slaght
After putting together yesterday’s post I gave myself a “shot” with the B.E.T. gun and ER disc- and decided I was glad I’d expressed my feelings. If you don’t, the body stores them. That’s right. It’s a remarkable storage device. All sorts of memories, including unprocessed painful ones, get lodged in our tissues. When the body runs out of storage, these emotions cause toxicity and illness. In my case, I used to be the PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE QUEEN. “Passive aggressive” is a strategy we use when we don’t speak our minds. Problem is, when you do this with anger it kind of “sits” in your brain, igniting certain fibers, even impacting your body image! It’s amazing how many overweight people are just filled with rage, so EAT! Some other examples of passive aggressive behavior- The threat based question: “ARE YOU NUTS?” (we have a deeply ingrained fear of being labeled crazy, so when you say something like this to a person it’s an attack. Subconsciously, we all still remember that being labeled as crazy could separate us from others, where we might even die.) Wistful statements: “I sure wish I could cross the border of any country I choose and then get a monthly check till I get on my feet, which 68.3 % of the time, for Muslim refugees, is NEVER.” Small put downs, insults: “ I see Chicago has promised illegal immigrants they will be safe there. Good, because nobody else is.” Or “I’m so glad government officials take an oath to enforce Federal laws but don’t have to enforce the laws they personally don’t like.” Backhanded compliments: “I’m so impressed with the lavish lifestyles of our politicians.” Then there’s Ignoring someone: (for example, checking cell phone while they’re talking) Also, procrastinating, taking our anger out on ourselves (serious accidents often occur when someone is angry about something!) leaving someone out, sabotaging them, and, of course, keeping score. “how many vacations, now, has the President taken?” Thing is, if you keep this passive-aggressive behavior up long enough, your voltage is dramatically lowered. This impacts the creation of your reality, plus at some point you might even get physically ill. Maybe it’s better to say what you feel, especially when it comes to anger. Still, last night was $5 cheeseburger night at one of my favorite restaurants. I had a loaded cheeseburger and tater tots. ![]()
There’s a cute little ice cream shop on the way home. Yes, I did stop and have a cup of praline.
Maybe one of the keys to making anger constructive is to realize it’s a work in progress. Today’s scan, etheric, not physical https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cbftIGXo5M
