Bizarro world was a 1960s comic book about a planet where everything was "opposite".
 
But maybe it was really talking about planet earth.
 
The US is now the psychiatric drug capital of the world.  These drugs obviously aren't helping - the more meds, the worse the statistics related to mental illness. And did you know the concept of "chemical imbalance" is a complete fraud? There is no science behind it- people are diagnosed according to behavior.
 
I saw my own mother deteriorate as she took these drugs. "Depression" was the issue, at first- situational. She would have been weird if she hadn't been depressed, there was a painful situation involved. 
 
But apparently her doctor didn't know much about the side effects of these drugs. A well-intention-ed attempt to help mask the pain backfired, That's still happening today, but on a much larger scale.
 
Case in point:  Anti-depressants
 
Take a closer look, for example, at Prozac. The FDA failed to prevent the release of Prozac even though  27 deaths had been reported before the drug was even released.
 
The FDA said "thousands" had been tested before Prozac was approved, but that was a play on words. (Translation-  lie.) A large number-almost half- had dropped out due to adverse side effects. Many who remained in the studies were given sedatives to relieve anxiety along with the Prozac, so it wasn't a clear study, was it?
 
But did you know the pharmaceuticals are allowed to do study after study until they get the desired results?
 
So here we are:  Risks from anti-depressants include intensification of depression, obesity, onset of psychotic episodes, senseless violence, homicide, self mutilation and suicide and other nightmarish effects, like actual damage to the brain.
 
And they're giving it to our children in mass quantities. There is more money spent on psychiatric drugs ages 0-17 than any other category of illness. Infants less than a year old are on drugs for depression.
 
If they can't give a diagnosis of depression, they go for "attention deficit disorder".
 
Medical professionals have deflected attention from the correlation between these drugs and the many acts of violence in this country.
 
Maybe what makes us a version of "Bizarro World" isn't that we continue to take these drugs in spite of the reality that they make us worse, not better.
 
Maybe it's Bizarro World because we just don't seem to care enough to make some changes.
