IS IT POSSIBLE TO CELEBRATE MISERY? by Cathy D. Slaght
Was talking with a friend last night over dinner about the pancreas- yes, that’s a bizarre dinner topic but there seems to be some bizarre behavior out there, and we were discussing why that might be.
Is the world just changing, or is there a serious problem?
An increasing number of experts say television, movies, and popular music has done some damage. But that can’t be the only factor.
Earlier in the day I’d had a sad conversation with someone whose daughter is in rough shape, so this was on my mind. Her problem had started with depression, so she’d gone to a psychiatrist, who had prescribed meds. She’d started combining them with alcohol. Sounds stupid to some, but her social life revolves around drinking. That’s true for a lot of people.
Now she’s put on a great deal of weight and is drinking so heavily they are considering rehab. Her husband wants a divorce.
Anyway, back to last night’s pancreas discussion- the friend said that years back she’d listened to a psychiatrist speak about this very topic. He’d said he wouldn’t prescribe any psychotropic drugs until a SIX HOUR (apparently usually it is four) glucose test had been completed. Almost always, blood sugar was the culprit. When that was balanced, the person didn’t need meds.
But how many psychiatrists follow this procedure?
So, here we come to a crossroads. There are many, especially the type drawn to energy work, who don’t want to speak of unpleasant things. They say- and are correct, to a point - that words are frequencies which enter their fields, possibly lowering voltage, attracting/creating the very thing they are talking about.
But a component of creating the life you desire is awareness.
Example – if you’re standing on the RR tracks, and a train heads for you, you get off the track. You don’t fight the train, or fear/hate trains. You don’t obsess over them. But you acknowledge they can do some damage if you don’t take the action of stepping out of their way.
Once you take that action, the train is powerless.
You DIDN’T CAUSE the train because you acknowledged it. The train has a schedule, it runs.
So, for today, if you will, take note of the sugar in your diet. This will take many forms besides the obvious- cookies, cakes, pies, candy, soft drinks. Potatoes turn to sugar. I was once told to just scoop out my baked potato and fill it with sugar, since that’s what the body does with it anyway. Then there’s bread, crackers, pasta- all sugar. (most processed foods are loaded with sugar.)
Finally, there’s alcohol.
Tomorrow we’re going to talk about some foods that could help restore the pancreas. But a start might be to explore what could have first thrown it off balance. Not to be negative, just aware.
Some will say- WAIT- I ENJOY my food, that’s how I celebrate life! I’m NOT giving up my favorites!
But let’s see if this could be worked out.
