IS OUR WORLD JUST A CAVE? by Cathy D. Slaght
Am reading a great book, The Healing Power of 8 Sugars, by Allan C. Somersall, Ph.D., M.D. (Unfortunately, this book isn't on scribd.com.)
The Forward, also written by an M.D., starts with an excerpt from Plato’s Republic, written about 200-150 B.C. As Plato explained, in allegory form, mankind was confined to a dark cave. People were strapped in, so could only look in one direction- the distant wall of another cave. Everything was dark, all movement was in shadow form.
One person breaks free, sees LIGHT- and returns to tell the others.
The response? They reject and condemn him.
The man who wrote the Forward, Dr. H. Reg McDaniel, shared this story by Plato because he had the same response when he tried to tell the Medical Community about 8 essential sugars that technology can now identify.
It seems these sugars are crucial to health, and the Medical Establishment did not want to hear it.
According to Dr. McDaniel, if certain nutritional approaches worked repeatedly where approved modalities sanctioned by the medical profession had failed, the conventional medical system would lose control AND money.
The information had to be blocked.
Anyway, having stumbled on this book while writing about so-called “Reality Bubbles”, I got to thinking maybe poor nutrition- which lowers voltage- could be the STRAP.
Am still reading, but then yesterday a friend who’s been suffering from an infection that just will NOT go away- she’s tried everything, mainstream and alternative- sent some information on copper deficiency. It seems that may be what’s going on with her.
Since there are no coincidences, I realized NUTRITION could be the direction we’re meant to take when it comes to having the necessary energy to step out of Reality Bubbles, i.e. create a new reality when life isn’t filled with JOY.
Let’s start with TRACE mineral dysfunction, and then move on to the 8 sugars.
We all know we need macro-minerals. (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chloride and sulfur.)
As far as trace minerals (iron, manganese, copper, iodine, zinc, cobalt, fluoride and selenium) we only need small amounts, and it’s presumed there’s more likely to be toxicity, not deficiency.
But look at this information on ZINC- there’s a growing body of evidence that zinc deficiency may be the underlying reason for depression. This could be why many patients don’t respond to antidepressants.
A study published in Biological Psychiatry found that depressed people tend to have about 14% less zinc in their blood. The deficiency was greater among those with severe depression.
In the brain, zinc is concentrated in certain neurons that increase brain activity and play a role in neuroplasticity.
Neuroplasticity allows the neurons (nerve cells) in the brain to adjust their activities in response to new situations or to changes in environment.
Maybe, with zinc deficiency, one can’t step out of their Reality Bubble?
BUT- research also cautions about trying zinc supplements on our own. When levels are too high, zinc can cause other complications. Working with a health professional is essential. Most of the time cutting out processed foods and eating REAL food does the trick.
Here are some ZINC rich foods - Meat, shellfish, legumes, seeds, nuts, dairy, and eggs
