A while back a friend gifted me with a free palm reading. I don't usually go for this kind of thing, but couldn't pass it up.  The first words out of the palmist's mouth were "You're supposed to be dead." Seems my lifeline had stopped, then started to grow again in a new direction.  I might have been skeptical, but then she said "You sure can't pick men, either" and I knew she was a gifted reader. LOL

Anyway, it's true I've had my share of health challenges. What turned my life around was quantum energy work. I came to believe that, because we're energetic beings, we can balance our own energy, possibly empowering the body to heal itself. Of course you may have noticed that whenever I talk about this kind of thing I say "may" or "seems to", etc- that's because I don't want to make claims.

However, all the news about the "evil cancer doctor" has prompted me to share an experience. Back in the 80s I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This diagnosis came as a result of my doctor finding a lump, sending me first for a mammogram, then to a surgeon. The surgeon did a hollow needle test and said I needed to schedule surgery immediately. Asked if I wanted him to save the breast, I said "YES!" at which point he said " It will never be a normal breast, no matter what."

What saved me was my ex-husband. When I told him, he sat down and cried. Not exactly for me, though. "That's your best part!", he wailed. Anyway, he took charge. I'd been on autopilot, really just numb, preparing for surgery like the Doctor said. Now my ex called the doctor's office, canceled the surgery, and demanded the mammograms. They had lost them. Next he took me to Mayo Clinic is Jacksonville, Florida. They did another mammogram and showed me  that the lump was a very common calcification. It should have been clear to my doctor, they said. 

There has never been any doubt in my mind that I would have woken up from surgery minus one breast. Looking back, I should have reported that doctor, but  didn't. Guess I was naive enough to believe he'd just made an isolated mistake. Still, I stopped automatically trusting doctors. Truth is, how many false cancer diagnoses have there been? Case in point, Dr. Farid Fata. He earned 17.6 million from Medicare and private insurance through telling people they had cancer when they didn't. That enabled him to  prescribe unnecessary chemo infusions and injections. Some died from these treatments, others will suffer for the rest of their lives. If it weren't for the whistleblowers he'd still be in business. First, a nurse, Angela Swantek, reported it to 4 agencies, state and federal. She was ignored. (A year later she received a letter telling her an investigation had cleared Fata. However, no one seems to be able to find the file of the investigation.) Then Dr. Soe Maunglay, who started working for Dr. Fata in 2012,  contacted the feds. For some reason that report prompted action, and Dr. Fata was in handcuffs within the week. Most of the time whistleblowers see their lives destroyed, so I am filled with admiration for these two caring people. One thing we must hold sacred, no matter what, is TRUTH.
