PART II:  CHOICE TRAPS:  SABOTAGE OF THE SOUL

Finding himself at the bottom of a huge spiral staircase, Zippy struggled to escape the bag.

He was filled with sadness, disgust, anger…” this sh* ain’t RIGHT”, he kept thinking …but getting to the top of the staircase must in some way be related to his mission, so he continued with his efforts.

Suddenly he was out and on the first step.

Somehow, in making a CHOICE to move forward, he had become energized!

What he didn’t realize- yet- was that he had just spiraled up*

(The brain loves to spiral up! “Happy chemicals”- dopamine and oxytocin- are released…little “high-fives” of encouragement.)

But NOW what-

He’d landed in the middle of what appeared to be a HUGE group of SLUGS- but, tuning in, he realized it was, actually, TWO groups.

One was a body-bashing group, repeating, over and over- to themselves and each other – how fat, slimy, and revolting they were, how hard life was…

…pausing only long enough to hydrate (slugs are mostly water, but whatever they were using was NOT water)

The second group was in the euthanasia line.

His first impulse was to just roll up- but then remembered there was a chance to be a higher life form- if he could just teach these wretched creatures KINDNESS- so, tentatively, he said, slug-style-

“Hello, all. My name is Zip. I’m here to MASTER these stairs. UP THERE life is said to be much better!

Does anyone want to join me? Right now you seem to be Choice Trapped, which means STUCK.”

Most were ignoring him, but he continued:

If you would choose to be kind to yourselves — which means NO talking about how FAT and REVOLTING you believe you are- and realize that you are an important part of the Tree of Life…you ARE- did you know…

Science has learned how human memory works by studying how YOUR brains work- speaking of which, YOUR BRAINS can regenerate!

It may be that the Fountain of Youth will be discovered because of YOU!

But now it is VITAL- for MANKIND- that you start being kind and compassionate to yourselves- under all conditions.

A number of slugs-from BOTH groups- were listening.

Taking a commanding pose, which, for a SLUG, is quite an accomplishment, he said:

“Repeat after me: I respect my body as it is right now, even if I wish I could change it.”

Those who participated had just taken their first step of kindness.  Suddenly they found themselves on the second step, excited and energized.

ZIG said “ No more body bashing or death wishes- or you will automatically be back on the bottom step.

But we must move forward.  That being the case  – what kind of food particles have you been picking up? AND- what is that strange substance you’re hydrating with?”

*spiraling up: building positive emotions and a strong mindset through choices that energize.
