Science now confirms that it's environment, not heredity, that  shapes our DNA.

In other words, the concern isn't that your mother had breast cancer. Instead, what shaped the family line was that your father abused her. That pain and suffering is embedded (downloaded) in your DNA, your children's, and so on. This creates a belief system and the corresponding emotions.

With that information stored on the DNA, probably way beneath the surface of your awareness, you believe that love involves suffering. THAT unconscious belief/emotion creates YOUR suffering. This is because all possibilities are in the matrix.  DNA is the antenna system that pulls it in.

Sound crazy? Look around. You can follow the pattern of grief through families- relationship failure, financial lack, health issues, and so on. But our family or caregivers aren't our only environment. We have other major environmental factors that shape us- the media,  teachers, religious authorities,  peers- you get the idea.

Again, the most powerful "downloading" occurs during the first 7 years of life- but it continues throughout life. It's more effective under certain circumstances. When in fear, for example, we more readily accept downloads that shape our belief system. Music, a "beat", lights and sounds, also accelerate downloading.

With what's on TV these days, I would be extremely cautious about what my child watches. Same with video games.

There's no question that self-mastery involves clearing these programs/beliefs that don't serve. BUT, what do you do about all those emotions you don't even KNOW need to be cleared? We have deep wounds- and by DEEP, I mean buried in the subconscious. And we're complex- sometimes we think we've dealt with something, like say, anger at a parent, when we've only dealt with a "strain" of it.

One time, for example, I was at an EFT training and saw one of the participants, a therapist herself, nearly disintegrate when she was led through a tapping on her pain at the way her father used to ask her to "be quiet". We thought we were going to have to call 911!

And a note about empaths.  It's true we're all connected, and that some people seem to absorb the pain of others. How do you deal with that?

Just a thought- often empaths are deeply wounded themselves, which is why they became overly sensitive in the first place. They're afraid, on a subconscious level, that they can't fix this, so try to help others. (The wounded healer.) Sometimes they even want to save the world!

This results in their feeling drained all the time. Because of this, many feel like a victim, blaming everything on their sensitivity. But truth is this is part of their belief system.

And it doesn't have to be this way. An empath can be powerful, and strong, using their gift of sensitivity for the benefit of mankind. However, it's extremely important that they do their own emotional healing before trying to help others.

Empath or not, if you want to "rewrite your programming",  you need to work in a way to tap into the subconscious. It helps if your conscious mind is distracted- as you know, when you're thinking, you automatically go into "default", i.e. subconscious programming. That's why affirmations, visualizations, wish boards and so on typically don't have all that great of an impact- you're thinking too much. :(
