Last night I went to a movie- CONNECTED. It's about Smart Phones and their influence on the younger generation.

In all fairness it wasn't quite what I expected. It focused on the damage social media can do to teens. (I was thinking it would be more about the frequencies coming from the smart phone and development of the brain.)

Still, it was worth seeing. According to experts interviewed in the movie, there are 5 lies teens now accept as truth, due to the influence of social media. And, of course, smart phones make it easy to be on social media for hours a day.

It seems about 50% of teens are now addicted to social media.

Also - many parents are allowing technology- the internet along with all the other stuff pulled up on smart phones - to raise their kids.

Anyway, here are the 5 LIES-.

The world revolves around me

I must be happy every day

Information is all that matters

I am my own authority

Everything must be MY choice.

Such a philosophy of life can be disastrous. AND, it's being formed at a time the brain is not yet fully developed. (The frontal lobe is the brain's “traffic control”. It's not fully developed until the 20s. )

Apparently one of the things blocked by believing these lies is GRATITUDE- interesting, since that's what we've been talking about. Many of these kids are NEVER satisfied.

And yet the voltage of gratitude is necessary to manifest the life truly desired.

Another interesting point- some of the parents interviewed had become aware of the power of images- particularly digital images- on the subconscious mind. They were concerned about the programming their children might be receiving from unscrupulous online “friends”

The overall point:

Technology itself is neutral- but can be used for good or evil.
