Years ago there was a joke about a man who had fallen off a cliff and was hanging for dear life to one tree branch he believed was keeping him alive.
He cried out to GOD- and received an answer- “Let go of the branch”
“Is anybody else up there?” he replied.
(That was the joke)
But there was another part.
He finally let go and discovered he'd been feet away, all along, from a soft landing.
Was thinking about this because of the book LETTING GO, but also - it seems like we may need to let go of some outdated belief systems as far as health, aging, and well-being is concerned.
As far as aging- it's defined as an accumulation of non-functional cells. There's no single theory as to what causes it.
However, there's a UNIFIED theory- it's various forms of STRESS.
SRC stress management – along with a commitment to healthier living and thinking- should play a major role, then, in keeping us YOUNG, right?
(correct answer is YES)
The challenge is that most people are malnourished in one way or another.
There's plenty of evidence for this, along with evidence of what happens when this is corrected.
Many turn to vitamins and minerals for the correction. But look at the growth of this industry, and then the rise in disease- even among those taking plenty of supplements - something isn't adding up.
So, before continuing with all the great things learned at the conference-
There are MACRO NUTRIENTS and MICRO NUTRIENTS.
MACRO: 8-11 essential amino acids, 2 essential fatty acids, energy source (carbohydrates), water, oxygen, and light.
MICRO: 13 vitamins and 21 minerals.
It could be that if we aren't getting macro needs met the micro doesn't do much for us.
Scientific discovery indicates this is the case.
So, supplemental protein, with all the essential amino acids, may be high priority.
(Eating plenty of meat doesn't seem to do it- possibly because this can throw off hormones. More about this tomorrow.)
But what KIND of protein supplement? There's whey, casein, egg, pea, hemp, brown rice, mixed plant...
...this is where the SRC can SHINE- by providing information. In my case, for example, I most resonate with pea protein at this time. Some of the others could bring my energy DOWN.
Also, it could be that we need to receive Macro nutrients in 3D form. If you don't agree, try going scuba diving without a tank while the SRC sends you oxygen.
