Sunday, August 2 there was an article in the Tampa Bay Times entitled GMOs, Labels, and Lies. It offered a "deep dive into the GMO debate to find the reality." Many were concerned after reading this article, because the facts didn't seem quite right, so, this week is devoted to diving a little deeper.

Am going to break the article down one point at a time for two reasons. First, the subject is complicated. Second, people are overwhelmed with information, and yet it it's vital that we be informed on this subject. Whoever controls our food controls US.

Before getting started, please remember that we are we are energetic beings. We cannot be touched by this world of appearances, not really. BUT, that doesn't mean you can stand on a railroad track, see the train coming, and refuse to step off the track because it's all an illusion. Only extremely high voltage people could pull that off, and I doubt any of us fall into that category.  

Our earth experience is designed to activate our potentials, and getting run over by a train would thwart that process somewhat. GMO foods may be the equivalent of a runaway train.

So yes, we're spiritual beings, but possibly an aspect of our spiritual journey isn't being "nice" all the time, but having the courage to follow our convictions and take action when necessary.

It might mean loving our neighbor, but not taking their shit.

The reporter, William Saletan, starts by stating the obvious- that consumers are concerned about their health.  Then he says the World Health Organization, the American Medical Association, the National Academy of Sciences, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science have all said that there's no good evidence GMOs are unsafe.  "Hundreds of studies back up that conclusion", he says. " The researchers couldn't find a single credible example demonstrating that GM foods pose any harm to humans or animals. The scientific research conducted so far has not detected any significant hazards directly connect with the use of genetically engineered crops"

But that isn't true. Not even close
