WE ARE ALLOWED TO FAIL by Cathy D. Slaght


Neville Goddard was a profoundly influential teacher.

He focused on restoring awareness of what the ancients tried to tell the world. Much of this tied in with Biblical teachings, but with a “twist”.

However - this was back in the 50’s and 60’s.

So, last night I got to thinking about what he might say NOW. Would he still believe we could harness the power of the INNER MIND and SPEECH and create MIRACLES?

Here goes - I think he would say “God is not a lazy God who created a powerful matrix of energy and then drifted off. You are ALWAYS surrounded by tidbits of information (he probably wouldn’t be familiar with the term frequency) to be accessed by your inner thoughts and feelings.”

Then, in my imagination, Goddard would say - “What do YOU think, Cathy?”

“Well, Neville”, I’d answer, “I think, for purposes of control, first religion, then other institutions, have done everything possible to keep us AWAY from the true realization of GOD.

Now it seems like this world is out of control…

He interrupted ... “What you’re seeing is a SUB-CREATION, just APPEARANCES caused by the misuse of thoughts and feelings.

The Ancients taught not to judge by this. Instead, go to the INNER mind. THERE, the creative power of thought and feeling is ten thousand times as great as what comes from appearances.

Don’t get me wrong- to call sub-creations “imaginary” is incorrect. It IS- sometimes inhumanely – real.

BUT- it can be revised. First you must start with yourself, which means changing your attitude. Then, put the power of your INNER mind and dialogue to work.

Start by constructing, in your mind, a drama where a desire of your own is realized.

(this is like developing a new muscle)

You need a car, right? Yours is in the shop, repairs estimated to cost more than it's worth.

Hold the emotion of owning a newer car. Speak of it to your inner self.  See yourself in the car. Best to do this before drifting off to sleep at night, but any time during the day will work.

Only one requirement- that “do unto others” rule must be followed, no exceptions.”

“Yes”, I said. “I read your book, Awakened Imagination, years ago. It works. Problem is I get so busy, and don’t always have time for this kind of thing.”

“You need get out of the PARALYSIS of this”, he said emphatically. “Work with your IMAGINATION…

YOU BECOME WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO IMAGINE. “

I hung my head, knowing I had allowed myself to ignore the reality of this.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself,” he said. “It happens.  Just open your mind - and take another step.”

Who knows- I may not end up with a boosted board after all.
