![]() IF YOUR FOOD EATING YOU? by Cathy D. Slaght Years back I learned that much of this crisis in our physical and mental health is due to processed foods. They're loaded with sugar. The more we eat, the sicker we get. This is because our cells need a power source, and that source is known as mitochondria. Think of the mitochondria as our batteries. Sugar disintegrates these batteries. It's not the ONLY factor in mitochondrial breakdown, but probably #1. As a comparison to what this does to us, imagine you have the most incredible cell phone in the world, but forget to charge the battery. With a dead battery, do you really have a phone? Does it make phone calls? No, it's just a shell. Many of us are also just shells. Our batteries may not be dead yet, but they're extremely weak. This lowers our voltage, or electrical current. Our voltage pulls in a "like current" from the invisible world of informational frequency surrounding us. And, just for the record, this isn't new age stuff- this is mainstream science This invisible world of frequency exists. It's measurable. We work with it every day on many levels. It feeds data to our computers, cell phones, televisions, and, on a much more profound level, to us. With a weak battery it's like only having 3 stations on the television, or a poor internet connection.. The lower the voltage, the more stress we experience. With stress, we turn to comfort foods. They seem to serve as a sedative for our poor frayed nerves, something to get us through the day. One more time you get that bag of chips, or box of cookies. But, is it really ever just "one more time"?
