![]() YOU ARE THE DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE by Cathy D. Slaght When my daughter was small, she called the frantic drivers who blew their horns HONKERS. Of course, sometimes the honks were timely. Still, they could be irritating. As time passed, I realized I might be a HONKER of sorts, minus a car horn. With that in mind, I’ve had an interesting experience. It started with the purchase of a wellness bracelet. You can find more information under HEALTH STATISTICS on this site. I haven’t posted about it up to this point because I wanted to be sure it was everything claimed. It’s relatively new to the market – some say it’s a Fit Bit on steroids. Along with giving calories, steps, and sleep patterns, it also measures blood pressure, heart rate, oxygenation, and even can do an EKG. By the end of this year they will also have BLOOD GLUCOSE-yes, no more finger pricking for diabetics- as well as BLOOD ALCOHOL, FERTILITY CALCULATOR, and a MOSQUITO SHIELD. BUT ABOVE ALL it’s a wellness gadget. I HAD to have it. (Let me know if you’d like more information, but this is not the point of this post, just an explanation of what happened next.) First thing I learned is that my blood pressure was high. With this AWARENESS I worked with oils, enzymes, and the SRC- AND IT BALANCED. I KNEW THIS because the wellness bracelet sends a text if it goes up! I was REALLY getting into this gadget. Next, I again went sugar free. There were a couple of slip-ups, but it’s the best I’ve EVER done. I LOVED the cheeses and nuts I could replace sugary, processed foods with. Then- JOY- over Memorial Day weekend, friends came and fixed the drywall, helped rearrange furniture and organize the house. But while trying to do my part I threw my back out, and used the pain as an excuse to eat sugary foods. And - maybe it was sugar shock- the BP jumped WAY up. This time it wouldn’t balance. SO, a week ago I went to a REAL DOCTOR. (Integrative) Had the BP checked, also got some blood work. BP still registered high. The doctor wrote a prescription. I didn’t fill it- just came home and continued with oils, SRC, enzymes... ...and got a call from the doctor's office telling me I had to come back in. This was alarming- I wondered if something had come up in my blood test. But turns out that my blood was VERY GOOD for an old honker. INSTEAD - he could tell I hadn’t filled the prescription, and RANTED the harm that could come to the body if blood pressure remained high. “OK”, I said. “I’ll do it.” For a person who is so devoted to the SRC and other forms of alternative health, this is humbling. He assures me, though, that if I stick with the changes I’ve made in diet, and incorporate some exercise (I’ve walked a mile a day for two days in a row now!) the medication will not be necessary. It's temporary, he said. Of course, I checked with the SRC- Also, the dowser said the reason for this blood pressure stress is GENETIC. It’s true that both my parents suffered from high blood pressure. However, my HERO, Dr. Bruce Lipton, says there is no genetic expression. And when I think about it, both my parents had less than stellar lifestyle habits, too. SO, I’ve learned a few things- yes, you can be your own doctor MUCH of the time - but also having a LICENSED HEALTH PRACTITIONER is a good idea. And sometimes, no matter which direction you go, lifestyle changes are necessary. In my case- Zero or low sugar needs to include cutting back on cheese and nuts. Sitting at a computer all day/night is NOT good for one’s health. And- sometimes you just need to not HONK Group information- we are on our second day, via the mastery, of clearing stress related to chemicals-
